The Beauty of Vintage Dresses...

Ahhh vintage dresses, you just can't beat them! The swishing fabric, the prints, the colour, the charm...

How could anybody possibly resist?

For the savvy shopper, vintage dresses have now become a wardrobe essential and with various methods of buying these precious gems cropping up, it is just so easy to find the dress of your dreams - one, I might add, that nobody else will own!

The need for fashion uniqueness and personal expression is now more in demand than ever before. The question of 'Will I see anybody else in this?' is now just as much a deciding factor when making a purchase as questions on fit, quality and price. As a result, oodles of women now turn to good old vintage dresses for the ultimate fashion fix and we really can't blame them!

Vintage dresses (and generally most vintage clothing) can fulfil this desire, this absolute need for one-of-a-kind pieces - something the high street, despite churning out various copies, can ever truly achieve and it is now easier than ever before! If you can't fit raking through sky-high piles of clothing into your schedule (although it can be very therapeutic) there are some really fab online options to explore.

A fantastic and very stylish alternative to the likes of E-Bay is ASOS Marketplace - they bring together a great range of vintage clothing from specialist vintage sellers and not a bidding war in sight! Their collection of vintage dresses is exceptional with all eras covered, so if you're a 1950s goddess or a 1970s hippy you will be in your element!

You see, the beauty of vintage dresses lies in their versatility. You can either go all out and dedicate your look to a specific era orrrrr you can quirk things up a bit and tailor your dress to reflect your own personal style. The possibilities are endless so click here to get shopping!

Meanwhile, here's some inspiration to get you daydreaming about your next purchase!

This 1950s dress is a fab example of diversity! Add some lippy, vintage shoes, clip on earrings and a gorgeous box bag to achieve the ultimate vintage 1950s look. For a more individual and relaxed look just add a leather biker gilet or an over-sized denim jacket, some Converse, a coloured belt and a statement ring - then you're good to go! This particular dress is by Its Vintage Darling, so if it takes your fancy just click here and shop the rest of their collection via ASOS Marketplace.

Next we have this cute 1960s micro-mini dress (below). This would either have been worn with Mary Jane shoes or knee-high, patent leather Go-Go boots, some groovy earrings and extravagant Twiggy-like eye make up! For a smarter take, add some chunky heels, a blazer, some tights and a portfolio sized clutch bag.

This vintage dress is by We Love To Boogie Vintage and is such a fab print so click here to get shopping!

We also love this rare Adele Simpson red 1960s tunic dress by Rock My Vintage (below). It would look great with some black ankle boots, feathered earrings and a chunky cuff bracelet.

SEE!

What did we tell you?

The possibilities are endless! Whatever your style, vintage dresses are an absolute must-have. With so many ways to wear them and with no possibility of copy-cat situations, investing in vintage dresses is both purse friendly and a great way to be expressive so have fun, be creative and get shopping!

The Leamington Adventure...

Our weekend in Leamington for the Vintage Home & Fashion Fair really was an adventure - we met plenty of interesting characters to say the least!!

The event was held at The Royal Pump Rooms - an exceptional venue, perfect for welcoming our vintage-loving guests and our stall holders certainly didn't disappoint either (do they ever?).

We were just so thrilled with the sheer variety of items available at the event - it made for some great displays (and some interesting talking points). We really hope that everyone who attended enjoyed it as much as us - any feedback is always welcome and we look forward to meeting more of you at our next event!

In the meantime, here are some snaps for you all to lust after...

DON'T forget to keep checking back for details on our next set of events!
